Felt & Hardwood Care
A little care keeps your mats looking sharp and your floors safe. This page covers cleaning the mats and rail, storing them, and protecting hardwood.
Cleaning the mats
- Spills: blot straight away with a clean cloth or napkin. The mats are waterproof, so liquid sits on the surface rather than soaking in.
- Everyday cleaning: wipe with a damp cloth. For marks, use a few drops of mild soap in water, then wipe again with a clean damp cloth.
- Drying: let the mat air dry fully, flat and out of direct sun, before you roll it up.
- Avoid: bleach, solvents, abrasive pads and machine washing, which can damage the printing and the rubber backing.
Storing the mats
- Roll the mat loosely with the playing surface facing out and keep it in its storage tube.
- Never fold a mat, and don’t stack heavy items on it.
- Keep it in a cool, dry place away from radiators and direct sunlight.
Looking after the rail and table
- Wipe the padded vinyl rail with a damp cloth. For stubborn marks use a little mild soap, then rinse with a clean damp cloth.
- Wipe the cup holders and the steel frame dry after cleaning.
- Keep the table away from open flames and hot items.
Protecting hardwood floors
- Lift the table when you move it. Never drag it across the floor.
- Check the feet are clean before setting up, because grit can scratch.
- For extra protection, add felt or rubber pads under the feet, or set the table on a rug.
- Wipe up spills from the floor quickly, since standing liquid can mark wood.
